If any of you also have Daniel Madison’s Advocate (esp the newest one) please compare the 2 products. It looks like the Pocket King might be easier to locate some of the more difficult cards compared to the Advocate. Please also let us know how the Kings’ cards end up in your hand (and if it’d be easy for the card to go into gamblers cop). (Please message me if needed to avoid exposure.)
Thanks in advance Frank |

Please if someone asks to be messaged with exactly how a trick works, DON'T DO IT. This is exposure.
Let people decide if they want to purchase it or not based on reviews. Not on coddling and exposure, please. Let the inventors of new and well reviewed effects to sell a lot of their groundbreaking effects. |

PK isn't just an index. It's a mechanism. You have to imagine it as a series of flat gears driven by the larger mechanism that acts as the “engine”—namely, the thumb.
The dedication DV has put into its creation and into explaining how it works is admirable. PK does what it promises. But I wouldn't recommend it to an amateur. It’s not just about “finding” a card as quickly as possible: many indexes do that very well. The difficulty isn't specifically in finding the card in your pocket. You can learn that part without any particular trouble. The necessary “movement” is already part of every good card magician's unconscious hand mechanics. But it’s an entirely new approach that requires a certain learning curve to produce the named card. I can’t wait to use it (though it doesn’t fit in all my pants...) Thank you, Darryl, for this wonderful device that has opened up a whole new magical world. Best m |

This is not significant exposure being sought especially for a physical product you have to buy. If anyone is still uncomfortable about providing the information in the thread, messaging one person isn’t going to hurt anyone. Sheesh! |

Looks good.. Just wish dealers would tone down the trailers! Those women screaming, jumping around... I think its a little bit overkill! I could have been sold on this product just by seeing the demo they show, perfectly good enough! I didn't need the over zealous spectators going berserk!
Just my Opinion! |

For me, with absolutely no exaggeration, this advance in magic merits women screaming wildly and lustfully, even more than in the trailer. Honestly, I couldn't care if they were trailer trash women, the more the merrier. The only thing lacking was showing the magician kissing the lady whom he fell for. But I will buy it even if it does not promise this result. Thanks Daryl, this is truly wild, thanks for all your work. I have not used an index yet due to discomfort with fishing around with my hand in my pocket. Huge huge advance in card magic!!!! thanks for every minute of your work on this!!! Truly a dream come true, no matter how much practice it involves.

I always let myself be infected quickly by enthusiasm and “new” index systems.
Whether the positive reviews here already go back to an intensive use, I still dare to doubt. I also ask myself the question of whether Pocket King is a real improvement over the Advocate and Advocate 2.0 and, above all, whether it really is a new alternative. PK could be a child of Advocate (Daniel Madison) and Indexed (Mirrah Miraculous) in his structure. The card orientation and handling remind me strongly of the Advocate and also the extraction (thumbs and GC). This is therefore not new for the time being. I can’t see a real advancement right now. What to do with Mr. Vanamburg is that he does not gloss over anything, the tutorial is very extensive and he shows everything as it is. So you can also see that in the bonus routine (trailer with girl in the bar) he stirs a little longer and in my impression unnaturally with his thumb in his pocket. The Pocket King is perhaps an improvement to the Advocate 1.0 but no longer to the Advocate 2.0, since this now also exists more durable and with better card orientation (see Advocate Trailer). There are no larger blocks here now. All cards are individually accessible without having to separate. In the end : the best index is the one you use. |

How does this compare with the advocate 2.0 in terms of accuracy and resettablity on the fly?

I was also curious about the Advocate 2 and couldn't find it. but I think it COULD be referring
to the Holster that O Hare designed for the Advocate, which holds the cards in place, plus... search for this: The ADVOCATE Deluxe Set by MADISON x O'HARE . this overcomes the weakness of the cards getting out of place in the original Advocate. |

If anyone has Pocket King, and has used the R&S index by Eddie Raymond and Indexed by Mirrah Miraculous, I'd love the hear a side by side comparison/review. I'm sure that they are all great, but would love to hear about the similarities and differences. And while Advocate could be in the same conversation, the form factor feels a little more apples to oranges than the other 3. Thoughts?

Curiosity is nice but for this knowledge and experience people have paid a lot of money. No one will support exposure here and to answer your question one would need to talk about details. The statement about the form factor also made me skeptical. You will find several topics on each of the systems mentioned that you already can read. By the way, you can write about this topic as much as you want. Testing yourself will not replace any review of the world. My advice: decide on the purpose, decide on one system, try it and if something doesn't suit you, try the next one until you have one that you regularly use. |

I'll quote my chiropractor when it comes to workout routines, the best one is the one you will do.
Now, what is your motivation for wanting to learn an index? For me, learning an index to learn it isn't enough. I have to be motivated by a specific effect to want to learn something, like an index. What is the effect you need to learn and index for? The first effect determines in part what index you will use. ER's RnS index simplifies things by using the RnS to half the options right away. But you have to build it yourself or pay Eddie to get one shipped. Do you want your index in one pocket or two? That is where ER's RnS index shines because it's like having the same options as a split index, but in one pocket. Once you reach 50 posts, you can even get directions on how to build one yourself. That should be enough to guide you without really giving anything away. Quote: On May 16, 2026, ADMAN wrote:

Just talked with a master magician. With any index, you have to have learned some and apply some misdirection.
However, this does seem a bit close to the new Advocate, maybe not technically, but overall. Looks great. |

As to the form factor comment, that had to do with the fact that R&S and Indexed are (like Pocket King) "portrait" oriented, for lack of a better term, while Advocate is both portrait and landscape. Don't want anything exposed here, never would, and I can't order Pocket King, as it's out of stock everywhere, so wanted to hear from anyone who has one. I'm looking for something that requires work, but rewards that work with as smooth and quick response. personally not a fan of DEX at all, which does not feel intuitive as others might. |
