Hey Everyone,

I'm looking for your collective wisdom for ideas to produce a large goldfish bowl from a box that's not much bigger than the fishbowl. I'd prefer it to look like an ordinary cardboard box that I can show empty first.

No worries about cover to keep water from spilling. I have that covered.

Your help is deeply appreciated!

Maybe a tipover box made of cardboard? I'd use an Amazon box because they are ubiquitous now.

Is the bowl full? How big is it?

Thanks for your suggestion Mary.

Yes, bowl is 3/4 full of water and artificial goldfish. I'm thinking of experimenting with Andrew Mayne's Bowling Ball Production on his Free Fall video.

You could make it bigger than the box if you use Guy Jarrett's doge.
What about a Westgate bowl type arrangement built into a hand truck type of device?

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your suggestions. I want the production to seem organic, hence the desire to use a cardboard box. I won't be using a table or body load. This will take the place of Kevin James Bowl-a-Rama, that I've been doing for 30+ years.

How about U.F. Grant's Carton Production in Tarbell Course in Magic Volume 6? Dan Harlan has a variation which is open in the top and the bottom https://www.penguinmagic.com/p/9237. It is very much like the Kevin James Bowl-a-Rama but in a carton form.

Thanks Frank! I'll check it out.

Right now I'm leaning towards trying Andrew Mayne's Bowling Ball from Paper Bag and modifying it.

Thanks David. I was aware of the Murphy's Fishbowl Production. Unfortunately, everyone is out of stock - which has caused me to try to engineer something else. I am excited about the ideas that I'm developing with an empty paper bag. I'll update everyone as I'm ready to put it into my show.

Thanks again!

Hi David,

Thanks again for your help. Murphy's only supplies the fishbowl, cover, and suggestions for producing the fishbowl.

I have all of that already. I am looking for a means to produce the goldfish bowl. They show a version of Andrew Mayne's Goldfish Bowl (or Bowling Ball) from paper bag. That is what I'm working on - with some twists.
