I saw Mr Fingers (Irv Weiner) do his thumb tie and it is one of the main things I remember about his show, really great....

I snagged a copy of Jay Marshall's "Jaspernese Thumb Tie" book, and was fortunate a few months after to get him to sign it for me.

John Novak's "Art of Escape" series includes a volume on the thumb tie. I've never read it, so I can't tell you if it's any good.

There's a little book called Sixteen Thumb-Tie Gems by Max Andrews that's pretty much an encyclopedia of thumb-tie methods.
