The subject line kind of says it all, I just wanted to share this. I always thought David Kaplan‘s big headline was a really cool trick, but I couldn’t really justify the price because I just don’t have the opportunity to produce people. I very rarely work in real theaters with wings or some such thing and so I saw no use for it. I purchased one anyway secondhand for $100 off and then saw an ad for Bond Lee‘s giant teddy bear production and did them both together, producing the bear behind the huge newspaper at the end of the show went down great.

Did it once at a camp show for a finale. Had a counselor carry off the inflated bear. Sorry no video

If the weather holds I will be doing it at a block party at the end of the month and will try and get video.
I explained it to the counselor ahead that of time and showed him the handle. I wasn’t too worried the magic moment is the appearance.
Obviously the bear needs to be taken off stage. At the block party I’ll try and work it out with a parent.

Instead of taking it off stage, or into the wings, perhaps you could put it away in a large decorated cardboard box. Like a refrigerator box.
