Many of you may not have ever heard of him, but there used to be a guy here on the Cafe named "Rawdawg." His real name was James "Jimmy" Hanching. I met him over 20 years ago at the Castle and we became friends. A very young Derek Delgaudio and I hung out with him at Jimmy's apartment until the wee hours of the morning doing magic for one another. Jimmy liked the gambling stuff and was a casual poker player who made the occasional trip to Las Vegas.
A friend of his came up to me at Magic Live this year and told me that Jimmy had passed away a year or so ago. My heart sank. He was a good dude. Miss you Dawg. May you rest in peace. Jason

I do remember rawdawg, and I'm sorry to hear this. I went back (as I often do when we lose one) and re-read a bunch of his posts, and threads he participated in. Some of those threads are over 20 years old. And we were here.
Of course, when you do that, you see posts from more people who have gone on. And it's pretty sad. Thanks for posting Jason. It's good to remember. RIP rawdawg. |
