I know this isn't really a competition but could someone please tell me how to register or what you do to get in?

You can go to the Society of American Magicians web page and look under Society of Young Magicians. http://www.magicsam.com/sym/index.html
Hope Anderson puts this on. She is a great person to work with. Just email her and she will tell you how. Stars of Tomorrow is a wonderful program. They really treat you like royalty. Best wishes, Dakota Rose

I work backstage at the Stars of Tomorrow show and will probably be doing it again this year in Boston. You will want to send your tapes in as soon as you can do the information that Dakota has so kindly posted.
It is a WONDERFUL opportunity to sowcase your magical skills and talents in front a lot of your peers and get some great feedback. Besides it is a lot of fun as well. Kyle

I was in it this past year in St. Louis, and YES: it is a TON of fun. I say go for it! But send in your tapes as soon as you can, I would say do it well before the deadline.
Kyle is right: it is a great opportunity....and take advantage of that opportunity while you are still young enough. I am going to be 17 so by the time the next show rolls around so I wont be able to audition again...I cannot tell you how glad I was that I did it when I was still young enough. |

Hey Brian, it's nice to hear from you. I wanted to tell you I love your illusion act. I agree with my Mom when she says, "Brian has great stage presence."
Anyway, what they look for is different acts. I did a dove act. Brian did a "awesome" illusion act. All of the acts were very different. They don't want all dove or all illusion. If you have something really different, you have a better chance. As far as age, like Brian said, he's 17, I'm 12 and all the other performers were between 14 to 16. So I don't think age is a factor in getting accepted. Look at some of Kyle Peron's posts where he talks about "what makes a good act." That will help a whole lot. Dakota Rose

Thanks Dakota.
It was a real pleasure workign with both Brian, his assistant as well as Dakota at last years show. They really conducted themselves with dignity and cared a lot about the performance they were going to be giving that day. They are to be commended on their efforts. With that said, the Stars of Tomorrow show is looking for any young performer who shows promise and devotion to the craft and art of magic. It can be any style of magic and does not have to be a dove act or manipulation act or even an illusion act. Use your imagination. They usually look for acts that are creative in nature and show that the performer has thought out the act that he or she is presenting. It is such a great and worth while endevour and I hope others will be inspired by both Dakota and Brain to go out there, create and film their acts and send those tapes in. You really have nothing to lose and so much to gain. Kyle
