Thinking about buying the himber ring, I am starting to get more into restaurant magic. is there a reset time on it? any sugestions on a different ring that would serve the same purpose?
any ideas? thanks.

Most Himber Ring routines I know of won't work well in a close-up setting whether the performance is in a restaurant or elsewhere.

It would be difficult, but not impossible to do linking finger rings in a restaurant, but I would only use it for LARGE groups, where you can have three people between each person that you borrow a ring from. You need AUDIENCE MANAGEMENT SKILLS more than anything.

We market the Ghostly Linking Finger Rings that come closest to close up. I did it for a dinner party, no problem. $695.00 gets it.

Hi

It is not a close up effect.

I actually developed a close-up presentation but never published it and haven't seen other close-up presentations published. Anyone who's expecting to perform the effect "out of the box" shouldn't purchase this with close up in mind in my opinion.

P.S. - I've heard that the Biro/Porper product is great.

Magic With Finger Rings by Jerry Mentzer has some of my close-up linking finger ring effects.

John Stetson has a version that can be done VERY CLOSE.

Let us define what is going on here.

Close up to me is people VERY VERY CLOSE, like within easy reach to take a card.

Restaurant magic, like the original poster asked about could be likened closer to Parlor Magic... you can move around, especially at a larger table.

So... maybe it can be done in that setting easily.

And remember the SKILL of the performer has a lot to do with it.

Audience management and attitude too.

OH, RESET TIME is NIL... SECONDS.
