Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes anyway.
I am looking for a good quality folding table that would do for adult programs. I am aware of several tables but they all have cartoonish designs on them that will not do for my needs. Thanks for the time. Samuel

Rarely, do I find something from the dealer's shelf that will fit straight into my show. Often, I find something from the dealer's shelf that will fit in my show if I spend a little time repainting or reworking it.

Are you looking for a su-table (suitcase that opens to be a table) or a harbin-style table? Which do you mean by a folding table?
There is lots of information about tables in the "Where to put it all..." section of the Café, including several threads on su-tables. Here are a couple of links to other threads in that section to get you started: Cafe thread... Does anyone use a "suitcase table"? Cafe thread... Case for storing/ bringing your stuff in... Some sources for Harbin Tables (if that is what you mean): http://www.colinrosemimc.co.uk/magic_shop_harbins_table.htm http://www.vikingmagic.com/cgi-bin/dc.pl......tml=full http://www.gycklaren.com/magicshop/hot.htm http://www.morrisseymagic.com/stage3.htm - Donald. P.S. Other than Morrissey Magic, I can't speak of what it is like to deal with any of these other magic dealers. So, be sure to read the "Sweet and Sour..." section first, to see if these dealers have a decent reputation, before ordering from them.

Check out the "Billy McComb Folding Nite Club Table" at http://www.chefanton.com/entertain/Newest%20Products.htm
It is the perfect table for those who travel by airplane or for cruise ship work. I do two different forty-five minute shows using this one table. It looks very professional, is practically indestructable and scratch proof, and fits into the suit compartment of a samsonite suitcase, or can be taken on a plane as a carry-on in its included carrying bag. |

Okay, I have the best solution; I've been using this for years.
The table is a box that's open at the back; it's only aout 15-18" tall X 12" deep X 22" wide, with a suitcase handle on top for carrying. There is a separate TOP; it is plywood covered in vinyl (you can finish the top any way you want, of course) and while not performing this top doubles as a cover for the back opening, attached with velcro flaps. There are three sides that hinge to the top edges of the box (attached to the front and sides.) These hinge upwards, much like a Blammo Box, and the top then sets on these three sides (are you still following me?) You now have a full-sized table with two open compartments in the back; I also add a removable shelf at the midpoint of the upper compartment (the one that is created by the folding sides.) Your show goes inside, the sides drop, the top covers the back opening, and you carry it off like a suitcase! I have two of these, one of which I've been using since about 1988. Many tables have come and gone, but I always come back to this one as it's the most practical I've ever seen. And, with the hinging sides, the outer surfaces are ALWAYS protected when transporting. |

The Bill McComb table is EXCELLENT!
If you do any street type work, the School for Scoundrels has another excellent table for doing the shell game, gambling routines, etc. called the table for street and close-up http://www.chefanton.com/scoundrelsstore/street_magic.htm |

I highly recommend the Spider tables. No appearing tables but they fold very small and are light-weight but heavy duty. May be that is what you are looking for, Ben in London!?

Take a trip to Home Depot and check out the Pro Tools section.
They have some workable rolling cases.
Question: How did you do that?
Reply: No! How did you didn't do that, HowDini did that. |
