Check out Richard Kaufman's Collected Almanac. This has a good mix of effects and some truly outstanding pieces of magic.

I've got a suggestion. If you have 250 books and phamplets and 20% of them are non-card effects, then pick 3 or 4 classic effects that really appeal to you and perform them for a couple of months. It sounds like you have a huge amount of non-card resources already. Concentrate on learning to perform a few of them and see what kind of reactions you receive. Best of luck!
