This may sound weird to many of you, but I'm gonna ask it anyway...
My palms are quite dry for most of the time and they make it very hard for me to do certain card routines/tricks/magic/etc.... The palms need to be moisten so it's easier handling the cards...dry palms will just slide loosely along the cards...so I wonder if anyone has the same problem...if you do, what do you do to make it easier for handling cards? If you don't have the problem, do you have fairly moist palms, or are you palms dry but can handle cards fairly well? *Lotion ain't working~~~ Thanks.. Stephen |

Try glycerin and rose water. I have never used this but have heard from more than one Magician that this works quite well.

I too have very dry hands. It's a skin condition. Here are some threads that may help you.

The book "Close up Illusions" by Gary Ouellet offers a recipe for a hand lotion that works beautifully! It combines rubbing alcohol, rose water and glycerine (I forget the proportions... ).
If you do not feel like making it yourself, you can buy it here It is made by the Camirand Academy of Magic in Montreal... |

Try hand moisturizers or lotions.

If the problem persists, don't worry about it. There is so much you can do without sleight of hand requiring palming techniques.

If you can find a hand lotion called "Golden Tears" it's what Ed Marlo used. I use Vaseline Intensive Care when needed.

Hello. Go to your local pharmacy and see if they can order Chamberlains golden touch hand lotion. It is glycerin based and works great. I order two bottles from the local walgreens early this month and they were about $4.50 per bottle. it lasts a long time and does a great job of helping your dry hand issues. I get dry hands badly as well and its the best thing I have ever used. Was recommended to me by milt Kort. He was a pharmacist and well noted magician.
Hope it helps. Chris |

Just moisturize your hands and you will get a better pair of hands to palm.
