Is the version in English the same as the spanhish version or there are some changes. I have the spanish one since FISM 2000. It's great believe me. You can do reali miracles with that.
Let me know if you know of any diferences. Thanks Alex

From what I understand, there are a few changes, mainly the elimination of a few spelling effects that could not be adjusted to work in English. Also, the English version is one volume, as opposed to two. Overall, though, it's the same material.

They do have a web presence to sell their stuff and a few other items at the retail level. Mnemonca happens to be one of those items that they decided to carry since they knew the demand would be high. Second, just because you saw it in their flyer doesn't mean it's ready to go. Louis wants you to think he's got it on his shelves so you will order from him instead of getting it from your local magic shop. He'll get it the same time everybody else gets it. Maybe a day or 2 before it gets to the east coast shops but not any earlier. Order it from Stephen at http://www.hermeticpress.com to help keep him producing high quality books and be assured it will go through the most direct path from the press to your doorstep or buy it from your local magic shop and help keep them in business. I ordered it as well after I read Jamy Ian Swiss's review in Genii. I can't wait to dive into this complete new world to me.

Mine came this morning as well. I got mine from hocus-pocus. I was thinking of learning the Joyal stack, but after a half hour of flipping through Mnemonica, I will be learning this stack and using the effects from this book.

I like what I see so far. Very detailed text. Interestingly enough, 2/3 of the book deals with the memorized deck and the other third are appendices that deal with all sorts of sleights. It is like a mini magic book in itself with valuable insight into the various sleights that you use in everyday card magic.

For me at least, the three to four hour estimation to memorize the stack may be a bit off. I may have to double it, but it has been about three hours and I "know" about three quarters of the stack pretty good. However, I am not using the auditory method he explains in his book, which may take some time off. I don't have the equipment. I would really suggest that you follow the other methods. They are very helpful.
The book is fantastic. There are probably over one hundred tricks. I think that a little over a quarter of them are specific to his stack. That's a lot of tricks left over if you are going to use your own stack. However, some of the Mnemonica based tricks are killers. The stack is really good. The stack is available on the internet for anyone to memorize. For that reason, I was wondering if this would be a good place to share memorization secrets to this stack. If so, someone else can start, I am at a loss. Trevor |

I've had my copy since Thursday. It's truly amazing. JT has a very new approach to memorizing a stack which contains a confidence building technique to get you started performing with it without fear.
I've been working with a mem deck for several years and don't plan to switch to this stack, but there is PLENTY of material in the book that I can use. I recommend it highly. Dennis Loomis

One word! Wow!
I have received my copy and started reading it immediately, just cannot put it down, you guys are gonna love it! I have already started learning the stack and feel confident with what I have learnt so far. ok so it was 38 words, but no words can give this book the high enough praise it deserves, this is gonna be a classic. Anyone else received there's yet? |
