Are there any other uses for the folding coin than coin bite and coin in a bottle?

I've heard there are coins that have 1 and coins that have 2 bands on them. Whats the advantage of only have 1 vs 2?

I put an extra on mine just to hold the pieces closer together and so it snaps back quicker...I certainly did not solve the former problem...although, I have a machine-cut coin, not a laser-cut one...why else a coin would have two bands, I do not know...
