I think it's active. The registration submit seems to work although I have tried a couple of times and not got in yet.
I think they use the messing around as a test as well. Like to see how really interested, genuine and persistant you are. |

I've tried 3 times so far. Maybe I'll step up the attempts while trying not to be too much of a P-I-T-A.

I've tried a few times and heard nowt, not even a "get lost", though I suspect the reason is rather less sinister than the "part of the test" theory, basically based on that the owners are presumably working magicians and therefore on the road away from their pooters for a while and have to do these things in blocks when they return. I understand some ISPs have an annoying habit of deleting unread mail over a month old, and even if Mr. Learned Pig's ISP doesn't those old e-mails are likely way down the "in" pile anyway amongst a sea of other applications, mail and general spam. If those other mails have filled up his mailbox quota, nothing new will show up at all.
This is similar to my dealing with promoters and venue owners over the years; if you happen to ring when they have the book in front of them, you can get a gig; it's convenience of timing, they're glad of being able to get the job done quickly and easily while it's on their mind. If on the other hand you happen to ring when they're busy with a million other things, the book's buried away at the back of the cupboard and the plumbing's just fallen to bits, they'll offer to "call you back" (a likely tale), so as to put off that particular chore until later. So it's a fluke of timing as much as anything; but the chances of hitting the right time window increase with persistence. |

I've registered with the Learned Pig twice and had to wait a while... I've since lost the username and password due to a switch to another computer. Can anyone help me out via PM? I remember either the username or password so I can prove it that way. I also know it's the same for all users.
Many thanks. |

It took a long time but they got back to me, could be like a one man operation and maybe he's really busy. It should work though it just did for me so hang in there.

To all of you who are still waiting, the only thing that can say is that this site is worth the wait, even if it is just to get access to the online books. There litterally is a treasure of knowlege there. Have a good day! Louis |

I'm glad I am not the only person to experience problems.
I have tried twice with at least a year in between each applcation and have still heard nothing. Does anyone know how to improve the chances of receiving a reply? I don't want to give up. If I am doing something wrong and know about it I can change my approach. Cheers Wizzi http://www.MrGiggles.co uk |

I have the old user and pass, but I believe they were changed because they don't work anymore...
I can show the old user/pass and the email from marko to anyone that would be kind enough to send me PM so I can find the new info. Thanks. |

It's been over two years since I applied.
Perhaps I'm too learned or just not enough of a pig. Perpaps my reputation for not eating "corn" preceeded me. However it works out... I'm told it's an interesting site.

I applied a few years ago and was accepted soon after. I didn't have any problems getting a response when I forgot the password.

I was accepted about 2 years ago, but haven't visited in a long time. When I recently tried to log on, it wouldn't accept my password. In fact, I believe when I registered originally, you only needed a password (not a user name). Anyway, I can't get it to work now. Do you think he probably deleted me for being "inactive?"

Everyone now has the same username & password. I didn't visit the site for a while and I'm still able to log on.

Hi all,
This is really embarrasing, folks! I mean, reading all these complaints. And the worst of it is that you are right. Allow me an attempt at apologizing. Besides being a working magician I also have some other work areas. I owned and directed a small theatre here in Panama City, Panama and that took most of my time and left me exhausted at the end of the day. I really didn't have the time nor the stamina to work on the computer, specially since that computer was located at my office. At closing time I only wanted to run away from it! However I was lucky. Some months ago some guys came along wanting to buy the property. We arranged a nice price and I didn't cry a single tear. Now I have free time and not only have I processed all back applications (almost 600!) but also replied to 200 emails asking for lost passwords. Besides I also updated the main page on the Member Only Area of the site and am keeping up to date on applications. Now they take only a few hours and if you are lucky and I open my email at the time you apply, it will only take a few minutes. So please, forgive all the inconvenience and apply or reapply for membership. The test is really easy for magicians. You can go directly: http://thelearnedpig.com.pa/register/forms/form1.html I assure you you will get your password in a very short time. Best regards, Marko The Learned Pig Project |
