I am moving several of my web sites to a new server. In order to keep things on a fairly even keel, the new temporary URL for the cups and balls museum is http://www.cupsandballsmuseum.org

I'll let everyone know when it is back where it belongs.

Thanks!

Update: Aug 30 2004

The cups and balls museum is back to its normal place, http://www.cupsandballsmuseum.com

It took less time for the transfer to resolve itself than I thought it would. The new server is faster, and it will allow me to put some password protected pages up for you to view. This means that I'll be able to put up some good material about cups and balls routines as well.

Thanks for looking.

That is a relief...I was worried about not being able to gaze upon the Musuem daily!

Why not keep the .Org?

Actually, the museum has gone down again. It seems that it takes 72 hours for these to resolve permanently. I'll probably use the ORG as a redirect, once the transfer has settled down.

I moved 17 web sites in all.

Update: Aug 31 2004

Okay. In spite of my premature announcement yesterday, I think the web site has finally settled into its new location. So when you use the old URL, http://www.cupsandballsmuseum.com you will be at the web site.

The new server seems to download info a lot faster than the old one.

I'll leave the .org site up for a couple more days, then use it as a redirect after that.

Thanks!

Bill,

The Cups and Balls Museum.com web site looks stable to me now. I like the new pictures of the cups you picked up from Van Dokkum at the TAOM convention. Those micro cups are really cute. Looking at them next to the other Van Dokkum cups gives a real appreciation of the contrast of the sizes. Why don't you put up a picture of the micro cup next to a Monster cup?

Also, the photo of the new Foxy I cups looks really nice. Van Dokkum and Mike Brazill make some of the best cups in the world, in my opinion.

Thanks for letting me know that the http://www.cupsandballsmuseum.com address is stable. I can never tell how these internet things are going to work out from someone's dialup or from somewhere in another part of the country. I use browsers from several different sources to view my pages.

You must have read my mind about the photo. I had taken a picture of the micro next to a Monster, but had not processed it and ftp'd it over to the web site. I took care of that a moment ago, so you can see the contrast in the sizes. For those who are curious about these things, the micro cups are 1.34 inches tall. The Monsters are 5.8 inches tall.

I agree with you about the Van Dokkum cups and the RNT II cups. Joe Porper also makes very nice cups.

I also have to mention that James Riser makes some very fine cups as well.

Yep! I got it. Got Bill Malone's silver plated Paul Fox cups, as well.

At the TAOM convention, I gave a talk about the history of the Paul Fox cups and their imitators to the Collectors' meeting. I had several sets of cups there to illustrate with. Claude Crowe brought his chick cups. He got his from Danny, so I was able to compare mine to his. Mine are definitely from JB.

But now I can tell the difference.

They are still good cups.

I should add "Woof, Woof!"
