Does it HAVE to be the greatest movies of all time? Or just a few I myself like?
I'll go for the latter. THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS; THE GHOST TRAIN (Arthur Askey/Stinker Murdoch); THE SEARCHERS; BRIEF ENCOUNTER; CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND; PLAY MISTY FOR ME; THE DAM BUSTERS; BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (Universal); A BRIDGE TOO FAR. Oh I could go on all night! Tony. |

I'm sure I've posted in this thread long ago, but one that I just saw again recently and cannot be forgotten is, The Shawshank Redemption, which I would place second under, The Godfather.

City Of The Lost Children is a great movie.
Also, some good ones in no particular order: Penn and Teller Get Killed (not the greatest, but I love Teller's explaination of how he does magic) Chocolate Napolean Dynamite(Seems to go over very well with people who"grew" up in late 70-80) Shade (Some of the scenes were filmed at the Magic Castle, also some amazing card work) Just a few that I hope you enjoy if you haven't already. By the way, this is my first post. So, hello, and I really l love the site ^_^ |

My favorite comedy: "What About Bob?", with Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss. Never laughed so much thoughout a movie.
Favorite scene from a movie: The Vomit Scene - Mr. Creosote at the elegant restaurant - from Monty Python's Meaning of Life. Mediocre movie, but...I saw it in college, and was laughing so hard I thought I would need to get up and leave so as not to be an annoyance to others, but I knew if I tried to get up I would only collapse on the floor laughing. Never laughed so hard at a movie. Of course, there were surely others who felt, after watching the scene, they might need to leave for other reasons.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

It's amazing what movies people like, and some of these I would not even go see.
I rank movies as simply by being the best, are the ones I don't mind seeing over and over, so I buy the DVD. I am truly a SCI-FI fan, so here's my list, in no particular order except for DUNE, which after reading the book several times, I just got a lot more out of that movie than most!
