What do you think the difference is between a comedy magician and a comedian who does magic during his/her routine?

One knows creates laughter out of magic
the other creates magic out of laughter
Life is a system of circumstance presented coincidently in an illusory way.

He he, never expect serious answers in this section of the forum.
I suppose a simple way to tell the difference is to imagine the act without the comedy or the magic and see if would still stand as a good act. If you removed the magic and it's still a great comedy act then I suppose they're a comedian who does magic and vica versa. |

A magician doing comedy? Now that's funny!
A comedian doing magic? That might even be funnier! Regan

My patter and stories are funny and my magic is good, yet my magic is funny and my stories and patter are good. Where does that leave me?
Just a point to ponder Jim |

Comedians who use magic in there show have a better out. If the comedy doesn't go over with the audience you can just call it and move on to the magic and hope the audience enjoys it.
Since the comedy and magic are combined with a comedy magician, if one aspect of the show (comedy or magic) doesn't work the performer doesn't have an out. |

Very simply the difference is as follows:
A comedian who does magic is just that a comedian that would or could easily not use magic in his set to get laughs but chooses to incorporate a trick or two to emphasize a joke or add an interesting twist to his act. Most of his act is not about magic. A comedy magician is one who's act depends on magic to get the laughs. His entire or most of his show is about magic. A comedy magician is Mac King A comedian that does magic is Michael Finny Sergeant |

A comedy magician is one who does funny magic, while a comedian who does magic does magic funny?
On the other hand, I really like cheese.

A comedian who does magic works at a comedy club, a magician who does comedy works at The Ground Round...
