Whats up guys, gals,
Just began to work all the fine details in my dove pro. I was wondering if there is anything wrong with walking while making the steal? It seems to me that it would be great cover. Just asking if there is some golden rule why we should not do this or should I just go with it if it is right and working for me? what could be wrong with it if there is not a rule? DJ |

Your right I tried that and it does seem work. I think that that would be good if you wanted to use it.

It all depends on whether or not it fits your act. Is there a reason for you to walk? If not, then don't do it. There should be a reason for everything in your act. In my minds eye, I can't see a need to walk but I haven't seen your act.

Well in this steal I am speaking about I just did a knots off silk routine. They are both laying on the floor (knots) and I look at the silk showing the holes and I am a little ticked, so I walk towards my hat to throw the silk into it so I can get on with something else, right before my hand lets go of the silk that would have fallen into the hat I realise I might be able to fix the silk. I walk back over and stand by the knots on the ground and I have an idea, I wave my hand over the silk and a dove appears. I didn't see it coming.... My steal happens right after I show the holes in the silk on the off beat while I walk to throw it in the hat....? what do you think Dave?
DJ Please be completly honest!! thanks again bud |

Sounds like a good idea but if it were me, I wouldn't walk back to the knots. There's really no reason to do that. Give your look of being "ticked", walk to the hat to get rid of the silk. Pause just as your about to release the silk, look at it, then the audience, back to the silk as though you are surprised by something with the silk. Then make the production.
If you show the holes, then walk to your hat, then walk back to the knots to produce the dove, you then have to walk again somewhere to get rid of the bird. Might be too much "just walking".
