It's really good. A very easy peek when placing into the shirt pocket. A good line to use in order to buy time is to miss the shirt pocket a few times, then pay attention to the spot saying "I thought it healed up on me". I saw Jay Marshall use this line and I laughed very hard and have used the line ever since. Sometimes you have to squeeze the wallet a little hard but it's not noticeable. If you want to do mentalism, this is a decent product for the money.

Its made of plastic and screams "magic wallet"

It may look magicky, but it does it job: gives you a peek in a impossible way. People are more shocked by the revelation than suspicious of the apparatus.
Watch out for the modus operandi leaking (basically watch those angles.) |

Handle it casually and it won't attract attention. If the venue is dimly lit your face might shine a little for a second or two. Sometimes I ask the spectator to hold the wallet under the table out of sight so I couldn't possible see anything. As I illustrate this by example I drop it below the height of the table top for a second and take my peek.

Kinesis, that would seem to be an obvious move. At least to me anyways, you wouldn't need a thought transmitter, any old wallet would do and you could be opening it up for that moment and peeking.
But, if it does work for you, more power to you. I have used it a few times, succesfully, but I still find it a bit proppy looking. Just my opinion. GlenD

Yes, but the Thought Transmitter is tightly bound by a rubber band making a peek impossible. The peek takes around 1/2 a second. This time is so brief as to be forgotten by spectators. Secondly you can alter their memories by doing a recap of what happened and changing the course of events slightly.
I don't use Thought Transmitter in my table hopping as I don't like the angles if I have tables behind me. I am too worried I'd expose the method. |

Thanks for the input guys, seems like the ones I use are ok, I don't like "Proppy" looking things. I have been working on, and completed my version of the "Mona Lisa Puzzle" using puzzles and my gimmick to make the switch. After seeing the cost of the Mona one, I wanted to make something like it that is affordable by everyone.
Thanks again for your answers. Magically, Joseph |

I would find Thought Transmitter difficult in some restaurant settings. If the place went for quite a dark, smoochy ambience, I wouldn't try to pull off this effect. Mind you, if it's dark and smoochy, it's a thread-worker's dream!

Here's a little subtlety that I have used. I ask them to write the information while I am turned away. When they are done I say "Just close the wallet and slide it over to me". Without looking at the wallet, I pick it up and I say, Now, just fold the post it note and hide it somewhere". They will say " I never took it out of the wallet". I act surprised and like it was my fault for not telling them that. I say, "Oh, I'm sorry, here take it out and hide it". In that moment of confusion, I get the peek. I then hand them back the wallet, let them take out the post it note and hide it and I put the wallet away BEFORE I reveal the information. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Give this a try.

When the Thought Transmitter is handled properly, it doesn't scream "prop". I had no problem with it. I would now use a billet technique, just to simplify things.

I use the Thought Transmitter 5 nights a week in my restaurant work. I wear glasses and I DON'T use a post it note. I think that you are adding too much work for the effect. I use the dry erase marker on the sleeve of the wallet. Opening the wallet, taking one sheet off the pad, sticking that back onto the wallet, handing them the wallet, letting them write something, handing it back to you, FINALLY doing your dirty work... That is just putting TOO much emphasis on the wallet. The whole idea is to just lock in one thought for the spectator to focus on..
And yes if it is a dark atmosphere go with a C***** T**R or other method.. Just my opinions Shaun R
