One way, you could make it appear. Have it on a kind of bag, like a dove bag, hanging outside a table. produce silks, I mean, big silks, lots of them. Then go for the table where the macaw is hanging to get a smaller silk to tie all the big ones at the top, stealing the macaw at the same time, and them produce it from under the silk.

It's not that easy to just put the bird inside the bag for a production. It takes a long time to get the bird comfortable in going in the bag and being a show bird. Some birds learn faster than others and some just will not work for you. There like little kids and if they have a bad day there going to let you know.

I have a blue and gold macaw that I hand raised and I have had a hard time geting her inside a bag. I have worked with Dave Womach and many others in the magic community on this. With hard work and dedication with your bird it will be great to have her in the show. It will take a correct training diet to make the bird want to work with you. I suggest learning from videos that will give you a lot of great information. Check out http://www.birdtricks.com
for great tapes on training. Good luck and have fun!

Check out my website. You may get some ideas there. I use blue and gold, hyacinth and greenwing macaws in my show.

I have a series of tapes on a DVD, explaining everything you need to know on how to get your parrot (any kind of parrot), in to your show. It is at http://www.BirdTricks.com

Please let me know if I can help answer any specific questions.

First off, how old is your Macaw and how well does it respond to you?

I use a Blue and Gold Macaw & a female Eclectus parrot. I agree with what Doveman has said. It does take a lot of time & patience. I started working with mine from the time they were "Weaned". I think the earlier the better & go SLOW!
I hope this helps.

I agree with John, I feel that it is important to start from scratch and handraise your exotic bird. You will thank us later for telling you this. Using a current pet or adopted bird will be much more stressfull and difficult to handle.
