I came across an awesome classic effect at Hank Lee's. Here is how the effect reeds:
"Bottoms Up" Few momments in magic equal that of watching a spectator discover their selected card pinned beneath their own drink. Yet, rarely do performers outside the bar fraternity attempt this classic effect. Here, finally, is a refreshing treatise containing everything you need to know to pull off this audacious stunt with ease, including the subtleties professionals seldom tip. Even if you've never palmed a card in your life, Tommy Middleton's "Bottoms Up" will convince you that Card Under Glass is not just for bar performers anymore. Doc Eason says,"I never saw it coming...it blew right by me." Bill Malone says, "Heba Haba Al would have loved this!" Doing a search at Hank lee's... it did'nt come up! Here is the item # 30.626 The best $15.00 I've ever spent! I do this at the club bar and the reaction I get is unbelievable! Real easy to do with just a little practice! Gerard |

I too bought this trick and do like it.
However, the classic version of card under glass is where you repeatedly make the card appear under the spectator's glass. I feel this is much better. There is a version I've heard is great on one of Doc Easen's videos. |

Hi Boat & Emyers99,
Thank you so much for the info. I will certainly get the video! I always, if possible like to have it in book form and in a video. Gerard |

This is a classic trick and the little pamphlet "Bottoms Up," added nothing new to the already time-proven methods. I was very disappointed in this.

I remember seeing a harsh review of this in one of the magazines. It turned me off of the item.
JC Wagner also has such an effect on one of his videos Vol. 1 I believe. |

This is the worst manuscript I've ever 'purchased'. That $20 voucher could have gotten something so much nicer. I was terribly disapppointed.

Why would Doc Eason endorse this junk?

Now, THAT'S a good question! So many endorsements are such a load of c--p that it's hard to believe. And, I am VERY shocked by the so-called big names who write them.
For example, while I think Dean's Box is a very good trick, all three phases are all over the literature, yet, some very big names all claimed to have been "fooled" by it and some even got sentimaental about being fooled and fooled badly. Do these big names not read? The first phase is even in Tarbell! I place very little value on endorsements now because of the over-frequency and abuse. |

When Tommy Middleton came in the bar ( more than a few years ago) and did the thing for me... it *did* blow right by me...
he didn’t show me the booklet at the time... I believe he mailed it to me after the encounter.. the production qualities are nice but it only has the one sleight in it. it is clever but I don’t recommend it because the price is too high... if you want to study the card under glass then there are other sources out there that are a much better value. doc

Just get Doc's bar magic video that teaches his card under drink routine. For that matter get all three tapes. The material taught is some of the most practical and amazing stuff out there. He goes into great detail about loading the card under the glass.
