I added some photos of a Cellini-style Pouch to my
website. http://www.theambitiouscard.com/pouches/pouches.cfm I had this made as per the specifications he gives in his book, "The Royal Touch"

They look great Frank !
Why not get confirmed the dimensions by Jim Cellini himself? Compared with the ones sold by the Swizz shop yours are more favourable in price.. If you could get Cellinis approval that they even would fullfill his needs, (also he doesn't use a pouch anymore - he got wealthy and has tailored trousers ) it would be a good salesargument to have that approval.. Go for it...even when no exact fit of measurements are needed at all, purely psychological, it could be a hit..

I'm already headed down that path Werner. You have good advice though.
Glad you like. Frank

Frank,
For a machine stitched bag those things look really sweet. They look MUCH nicer than the leather apron that is popular with magic stores. I can't remember who makes them. The catalog ones are nice enough and serviceable but yours looks FAR better. Nice stuff buddy, and the price is outstanding! Best, Dan- "MT is one of the reasons we started this board! Yes they do look good but not so good with so many oranges with those pockets, even if they are half pockets. Just a bit thumberly getting them out, don't you think?

No I don't, I think you are wrong because those poouches should be larger...but having that seperation I think is a good thing....if those weere larger there wold be more room and more organization in the pouches...make any sense...but hell, I don't know, I don't work with pouches

The oranges were just for fun.
Actually I pulled the pictures from the website becuase I have no idea what the price will be for those. I put the pictures up there just for reference. They are not for sale at this time. The posted price is for my own pouch. The price for these will be set in the near future. Sorry for the confusion. Frank

I made a pouch based on the specks giving in "The Royal Touch" I ended up cutting out the divide.
I now use the Gazzo pouch, worth every penny. Mario |

Quote: That's quite OK, but IMHO, Gazzos pouch is SOLELY used and made for the melon-load/orangeloads in the C&B's whilst Cellinis is a *workers* pouch for universal use..

I'll alsways prefer the soft-leather universal stuff..unless I only would do the C&B by use of a pouch, but I would never dream of doing so..what works for Gazzo -and works outstandingly well for him - doesn't work for most others.. As you know, Cellini not even does use that pouch of his design anymore..he got wealthy and does used tailored trousers with suitable pockets..and that actually IS the best solution.. You might not know it, but Carl Cloutier actually is/was a tailor by trade and his topit-stuff and lots of the other alternations he has made to his trousers(pockets) aso. are his own work.. The Cellini pouch -no doubt - is great for universal use, unless you go to the trouble and have the cash to get a tailor made the same stuff Cellini does use.. It takes time, trial and errors..but maybe the solution will be in *The Art of...* part 6 ?

Werner,
WOW! you could not be more wrong in this post. I use a Gazzo pouch, I use it as my work pouch, I use it when I am NOT even doing the cups and balls. It is a GREAT pouch as it will hold MUCH more than the Cellini pouch and even when filled to capacity, it looks empty. This is something that can not be conveyed in a two dimensional medium like video or photographs. Gazzo's pouch is built for a real worker, not just a cups worker. The Cellini Pouch while also amazing is designed on a much smaller scale. It is designed for a doorway worker. It is small and unobtrusive, excellent for manipulation supplies, loads, and especially the ditching of small objects. BOTH of these pouches are excellent but you should buy the right tool for the right job. In other words, you need the one that works for you. I use a Gazzo pouch on the street because it suits my act. If I were to go back behind the bar I would snap up a Cellini bag in a second as it would suit that act perfectly and the Gazzo bag would be over kill. But on the street FOR ME the cellini bag would be serious under kill even when I am not doing the cups and balls. They are all tools and in my opinion one is not better than the other. But pigeon holing the Gazzo bag as a melon loader is an incredibly uninformed statement. Best, Dan- P.S. I have used BOTH style bags extensively on the street and behind the bar. I've done custom pouches like the Gazzo pouch and they are huge. They're not for me but they're a nice shape. I like them. I prefer something smaller but then again, I'm not a street-worker.
How come nobody ever talks about the pouch Cellini used around the waste at the back to carry the other items. Does anyone use one of those?

I don't know about the Animal gab but...
My pouch has 3 coin slots to hold 3 different coins or sets of coins. I use one slot to hold 4 half-dollars. I use one slot to hold 3 silver dolars. I use the 3rd slot to hold one of those listerine-mint-paper-to-keep-my-breath-minty-fresh-things. There is also a flat pocket to put odds and ends in so they don't drop to the bottom of the pouch. I use this extensively and even during my cups-and-balls. I specifically put one ball into that pocket so I can get it back and show that "it" really is going into the pouch. The pocket and slots were designed to be out-of-the-way, and unobtrousive. In other words, they don't get in the way, if you don't use 'em. Hope that helps.
