Ok, a bit of a challenge for everyone, I hope . Imagine you are with a group of friends at a lunch table, and they ask for a trick, you are surrounded, so no lapping or angle-sensitive tricks and you only have the stuff that is lying around in the table. If you really need it you can choose one gimmick, but remeber, it's lunch, so no IT can be used.

Micheal Skinner's Torn And Restored Straw Wrapper.
Do a vanish with someones ring or something of the like and make it appear in a roll.(not great but just a thought) Micheal Ammar had a real nice impromptu Cups and Balls using grapes, coffe cups and a butter knife for a wand. Was thinking of doing a mini Cups and Balls with creamer cups or butter cups and maybe pieces of napkin or paper Just a thought. Thank You Shawn

Here's what I'd do,
I'd go for a sponge ball routine with crumpled paper bills. It's simple but sweet.. |

I think I'd do some fork bending.

Haven't done any "fork" bending but I do spoon bending! In fork bending is it the thines that are bent? or neck of the fork?
If you cannot convince them, confuse them.

Well, if you learn them from where I learned it ( Gerry and Banachek's PK silverware video )he teaches you a bend with a single thine, then a couple with the neck and a way to twist and then break the neck ( with different forks).

I prefer non-gimmick spoon bending. But I guess the host doesn´t

There is always the old coin thru the table. Yes I have done that at a business lunch while surrounded and pulled it off. I have also done Slidinis routine with the rolled up napkins "dissapearing" over a person's head. I know not magic but the whole restaurant loved it, laughed and I had other tables asking me for my card. Booked 3 jobs from that one.

Oh, ok
Some of his moves take a bit of preparation, but you just need your hands and some forks and your mouth do misdirect |

Why no lapping? You are at a table. Vanishing salt shaker, cup and ball routine, anti gravity ala Charlie Miller with a knife. Old gag bending a spoon by pushing it onto table top. Napkin over the head of someone (or bread roll).
Produce your show under the napkin. Lots more.

Find a $20 inside a cardboard coaster. I don't remember who did this one; perhaps Gregory Wilson.
It's not a magic trick but it's funny.

For gross effect, I love using that Penn & Teller 'fork in the eye' gag. Make sure those around you have strong stomachs, though!!

I have a few variation of roughly the same trick, but this never fails to blow them away.In Jon Tremaine's The Amazing Book of Magic Trick is a brilliant trick called Superman. In the book the trick is done with 3 balls made from the foil inside a cigarette pack.If this is not available I use match sticks or tooth picks. The effect is that you make 3 balls(no extras used),vanish them one by one, then magically reproduce them, asking a spectator to hold his hand beneath yours. You the put each of the 3 balls in your fist as you produce them, ask him to blow...and they vanish without a trace.

If memory serves ( and I'm not promising that it does lol) Vernon's Unlimited Coinage of Silver is where coins appear under various objects on the table. Under a coffee cup, under and napkin, plate, etc. The kicker is tearing open a dinner roll to find a coin inside(that's where I got the idea posted above, accept just using someones ring). Respectfully Shawn
