There are may methods for spoon bending. I'm sure if you look on many different sites you can find DVDs on the subject or booklets.
The best spoon bend I have ever seen was by a street magician in Florida using a method shown on 'magic secrets revealed.' I'm sure you can find a copy of the show somewhere. Spoon bending does actually use a lot of different old methods, all very easy to be caught out. I suggest you do coin or nail bending as used in Sean Feild's Explicit Content. |

Get Banachek's "Psychokinetic Silveware." It is the source for the best work.

The best spoon bending routine I have ever seen is on Richard Osterlind's Mind Mysteries DVD. Watch it and I'm sure you will agree.

The Banachek CD is great.
The Osterlind is great. I really like the 'twist' on the banachek video. It's impossible for any explaination to exist so is perfect for getting started with bending. The Banachek DVD is more in-depth because it's all about that one item. Get both.

I second the Banachek's "Psychokinetic Silveware."
If you want to learn some amazing stuff get it. It's THE AUTHORITY as far as I'm concerned. -JH

Also, the Banacheck video/DVD contains footage of Banachek doing some spoon bending table hopping.

Banachek, Osterlind and the new released "Liquid metal" will be a very nice arsenal of mentalist spoon bending.
But take a look at the Davis Williamson routine: it is more magic, more fun, but it is totally incredible and great. it was published in his (quite hard to find) sleight-of-Dave video, but those tapes are republished in his new DVD trilogy. (take a look at the forum about critiques of new DVDs for more info.) Jonathan. PS, Maybe, in a Café or animated restaurant, the Williamson appoach will be more appropriated than the mentalism one. BTW, I'd be glad to read your opinion about this very point! |

I liked Banachek's tape, but I thought Patrik Kuff's video was the best I'd seen on the subject.

Bavoli has some nice spoon bending stuff. I have used a routine of his for a few years and it never fails to get great reactions.

For Banachek lovers (and wol), consider this for a fun twist on “the twist.”
I diner I go to often, uses the same forks that I get for fork ”bending.” I get them at Wall Mart, cheap. As I was waiting for my weekly spaghetti at diner, I prepared a fork “twist.” After I was into my eating, I replaced the restaurant fork with my gimmicked one and called the server over to my table. I told her that something happened to my fork as I was twisting my spaghetti. Not only did she gasp in surprise, but also had others help her go through the fork basket, looking to see if any other forks failed. Bob |

I doubt this is appropriate for restraunts, but for anything else I use the Liquid Metal routine. It is the best metal bending routine I have ever seen, I highly recomend you getting it.

What is the primary difference between PK Silverware and PSI Series 4? I read the description for Series 4 and it looks like it has everything needed for Spoon Bending ala the Banacheck way. Thanks!

Actually they are very different.
PK silverware has a close-up/stage routine with audience members that uses 2 forks and is a progresive routine. Many bends and the twist are used close-up right in front of them. PSI Series 4, while it includes a neck bend, tine bend and a twist, they are not explained as part of a close-up routine, but mearly used for a "bag method" where each is bent as they are dropped into a bag. PSI 4 also has a really nice fork switch, a new bend not taught on PK silverware and many other great things like keys and nails and coins. I think that PSI 4 is a great addition, but I don't think that by watching *just* that DVD you would be able to perform a great close-up routine with fork bending. A good analogy would be 2 card DVD's that both use a double lift. One DVD might teach you an awesome close-up routine using a double lift, while another DVD might show you a different trick with the double lift... Just the second DVD teaches a double lift(or in this case a tine bend, ect), does not mean it also allows you to perform the great close-up routine taught on the first DVD. Sorry if that is hard to follow, but I feel that the 2 DVD's compliment each other, without overshadowing either's material. |
