Hummm.
I had the opportunity to attend a live show last night. The Amazing Kreskin. Amazing... yes. Amazing that he could book the show. I guess that I should feel fortunate that I got the chance to see a 20 year old show live. I was also amazed that two-thirds of the show was taken up by him regaling the crowd with tales of things he did 30 years ago and dropping names of famous dead people he's performed with and for. I'm amazed that after two false starts to the show a name like Kreskin had the audacity to try and elicit more applause from the crowd by trying to come onstage a THIRD time! I'm amazed that Kreskin hasn't learned that audiences don't appreciate being insulted and talked down to. I'm amazed that Kreskin can book any shows after verbally trashing the venue and insulting the staff. I was amazed before the show that Kreskin had to work for $5 a head... Wow! Now I don't wonder why anymore. Oh well... just my observations from the audience. I guess if I had been backstage things would have looked different. Nahhhh...
Boy: Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth.
Neo: What truth? Boy: There is no spoon. Neo: There is no spoon? Boy: Then you'll see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself. |
