I was asked to give a small demonstration and talk about the art of magic for a fourth grade class. Of course I started with a small show. Most of the stuff I do, especially for children, is comedy magic.
I noticed a boy in the back that I gather was intellectually challenged. In these parts children such as these are integrated into the classroom with an aid. I didn't think much of it at the time but after the event his Teacher came up to me and said that it was the first time she had seen this student laugh since school started six months ago. Gave me a real warm & fuzzy feeling....and some people don't consider what we do art! |
