Thank you Mark,
Actually, come this March it may be rather hard to visit The Escaporium. Over the summer we were approached by a few large Ontario, Canada museums with an interesting concept that would see The Escaporium collection turned into two different travelling exhibits that other museums would play host to for months at a time. One exhibit will be about the history and evolution of restraint devices and the second exhibit will be about the art of escape and it's practitoners. This seems far more financially sound than just having one location and subsiding off of limited admission revenue which could be affected by many things including Summer weather and even the fluctuating economy that determines where tourists decide to visit. One of these new exhibits will launch in Toronto in the coming year and we hope to have both on tour to other large cities here in Canada by summer of 2005. Economically, this is the right thing to do and many more people will have a chance to see the collections as well as learn about the history of restraints and the art of escape. Cheers, Steve Santini |
