Hi,I'm from London.I have been interested in magic off and on for years, and especially street routines and scams (although I don't yet possess any real skill). I was taught 3 card monte years ago but always knew it as the 3 card trick (even Hugard calls it that) and for a long time I could find no usefull info on it. Once I found that it is now universally known as "3 card monte" I was well on my way.
I had become bored with the man-in-dinner-jacket-and-bow-tie-glamourous-lady-assistant-type-shows, they were boring and failed to engage the audience. What really turned me on was the advent of street-magician routines. Here at last the audience is fully engaged.
I am not a magician but an accountant by profession with a small practice, but I find that the odd trick can change client's attitude to me and help undue the dull perception that accountants carry with them.
This site has been an inspiration to me, especially the revues of products. Prior to this the only real revues I could find were on Penguin.
