I just bought and watched the Gary Oulette companion video to his fantastic "Close-up Illusions" book.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That guy was fantastic.

Best spongeball vanish I've ever seen.
Absolutely astounding.

Cardwork was fantastic. Very smooth.

Boy oh boy.

Anyone else have this book? I didn't know there was a compainion video until yesterday when I picked it up.

Great stuff with cards, coins, dice-stacking, spongeballs, you name it!

Wow.

Gary Oulette ?

I've most of his videos, what I did like the most actually wasn't his card work or coin stuff, but the shell-game portion where he used a saucer.

I write this out of memory and it is over 10 years back -at least- I've seen these videos the last time, but his misdirection re this steal/load (can't recall) was the best thing on any of his tapes..can't recall if also a glass was involved , but I recall he use kind of an inverted saucer used under flowerpots..

Have to look it up one day, not tough to find I've it all registered on a list...
But THAT was great misdirection..

His coins through the table weren't bad either, and as you say, there was a lot of nice work, but TBH, I never counted Gary Oulette as a great sleight of hand artist but he handled his stuff nicely, and he did a very good job!
And he was a very nice guy, also involved in lots of TV-productions re magic as an adviser..

I also recall his torn card routine..it was quite good!
