I use a story about Houdini and how he would escape from a jail.."Some people thought he went through the roof others the floor...."
I also do a routine about how these rubberbands were made from the same rubber as the recalled tires.... What is your patter for the CMHC?? Most magically yours, WR

I just tell people that there are certain properties to rubberbands that people have always overlooked. at first, they aren't even sure they are watching a magic trick, but after seeing what happens, they are-

Frankly, I just say, "Watch"
There really isn't much to say about a rubber band trick...although I'm not saying that there isn't room for it! My little 2 cents Cheers, Logan

If you're going to refer to the effect as "Crazyman Handcuffs" then I would think it a good idea to stick fairly closely to Ammar's crazyman handcuffs patter.
If you're talking about llinking/unlinking rubber bands, then you got the whole world in front of you. I do just about that Logan suggested: Just Do It! with out much patter at all. mike

Same here I dont really say much when I link and unlink rubberbands. I just have a routine with 4 or 5 different rubberband tricks. Its really not my style to make up funny, wierd, or strainge patter.

I start off by asking people if, when they were a kid, did they ever played with those tube things that you put your fingers in and then couldn't get them out. (As I am saying the opening line, I am gesturing with my hands showing a tube and then mime-ing putting my fingers into the tube that I just made with my hands.)
They usually say yes. I say, "Yeah, they're called....Chinese finger traps" (most times people will say it). "Well I was playing around with a couple of rubber bands the other day and I realized that if you put them on your fingers like this (standard CMH setup) they are set up kinda like the Chinese finger traps. Your hands are locked together and the harder you pull them apart the tighter the bands get." I say, "Now the finger traps are only made of paper and these are only rubber, so you could just pull your fingers apart like this" (I use right hands band to pull the left hands rubber band off the end of the index finger, while holding the left thumb against my chest so the band doesn't go flying). Very fairly put the bands back in standard CMH set up. I then say, "But that's cheating because you have to find the method or way in which you can separate you fingers. Now it should be obvious that you can't go through the thumb, nor can you go through the finger and obviously you can't go through the middle, they key is just to rub the bands together like this and the bands come apart!" You can probably figure out the rest. Hope that helps.

Beofre I unlink the bands, I ask people if they ever saw David Copperfield walk through the Great Wall of China. It would have been more impressive lengthwise...... but this is the same thing, except without his sort of budget!
