Interesting read on something we already know about.

Scroll down to the Psychology Award and click on "Gorillas in Our Midst" for a .pdf of their paper. Also find your way to the Basketball video. Count how many times the "whites" pass the ball.
One time, when I was young, I botched a sleight so bad, Vernon, Marlo & Miller rolled over in their graves. But I didn't see Elmsley, probably because he was behind the others.

This research may be a big step forward for us conjurers. Sorry this field has not gotten a Nobel Prize yet. Foreground/bacground and feature detection are basic to our having a 'model' of the world.

There is a very well known card trick from over a decade before where odd backed cards are known to go by without a flinch as the volunteer keeps a watch for their card.

Very, very interesting.

Maybe I have a heightened sense of awareness these days but I managed ok with the video Smile

However my girlfriend was a perfect experimental candidate and all worked out as it should. I can see myself experimenting with this quite a lot.

Facinating paper. It took me some time to read.

When I finished it, I was surprised to see that I was actually outside as the firemen had just knocked down the last of the burning walls. Smile

I never catch the final Cup and Ball loads either.

Hadn't you noticed that people aren’t very observant? Smile
Humans make life so interesting. Do you know that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to create boredom. Quite astonishing.
