Hi folks!

I've been lurking here for a while, checking out magic forums, and I have to admit this seems to be the most 'grown up' forum around. I haven't noticed any childish comments & no flaming! Well done, everyone.

I'm 28 and from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I've been doing magic for about 2 years, but have spent a lot of time (& money) learning various tricks, including cards, coins, rings & ribbons & some various gaffed tricks. I've just got into the rubber bands, now, too.

I have all the Ammar ETMCT videos, plus numerous other vids (David Acer, Jay Scott Berry, Dan Harlan) that have helped me out tremendously. My favorite tricks to perform are the 'card to ceiling', Jay Sankey's 'Paperclipped', 'Card Warp', and many of the tricks from Ammar's videos. I even have to say that although it was the first trick I ever bought, and absolutely fool-proof, the "Jiffy Coin Trick" STILL gets some great responses!!

I prefer doing the walk-around closeup magic, and have been asked recently to start doing shows, so I guess I'm performing them well.

Although I have been fascinated by magic most of my life (isn't everyone, though?), it wasn't until my brother hosted a "murder mystery party" in which my character was a magician. To add to my costume, I decided to check out the local magic shop which had just opened up, and buy some 'props'. Well, let's just say I got addicted. I love it!

So, I have to say, I look forward to posting on the forum! I've tried reading most of the recent posts, so I hope I won't repeat any questions or discussions that have already occured.

As I am also an autoracing fan at heart, I have kept my usual 'nickname' for this forum.

(PS, I'd be interested in hooking up with the other Calgarians some time!)

Welcome Friend Indyfan!

Your list of interests and effects picks right up on many of my personal favorites.

The Rubber Band stuff is fun and easy too. Always handy and sure to amuse somebody (even if it is only the performer....)

Glad to have you join us!! I look forward to hearing more from you.

Wow! It's like Albertans are invading the board!
That's good, because you'll like it here on the best magic board on the 'net.
