The devil stick comes from China. As a prop for professionals jugglers it is very limited, but kids love them, so my advise is don't buy the $35 Dube, Todd Smith, Rennegade, or Infinite Illusion devil sticks, but if you buy the cheapo toy store variety devil sticks they will sell to kids much like tourist magic sells to magician wantabes.
Good luck

When I say straight, I mean with no taper. the dube sticks taper in the middel, making it easer to control. and tho I have seen people who do quite well with the flower sticks, thay are still very limited.
I am not one to tell some one how to run there business, IMHO I would cary at least one good devil stick, thay sell them in the toy stors, heck thay sell magic in the Dollar store. Is this the market you want to fight for?
Have a good selection at several price points and you should do ok. If all you get are newbes and 1 out of 10 who buy the flower stick, actualy gets good and wants to move up to a better stick, you can be the one thay go to. or you can send them to the internet to get the real thing. hmmm that dose not sound so good.

I find this topic rather odd, as almost every juggler I know has and can use ther devil stick, some with 2 at a time. (I can only do this with the flower sticks) there is no limit to what can be done with your sticks, have fun try some thing new and you will see.

Who are your customers? Not everybody wants to start out with Dube props. Is there a big juggling club, or university in your town? If not you would be best advised to sell "juggle bug" products rather than the high end professional props. Yes every juggler has a devil stick in their bag, but they all get tired of it rather quickly, I have never seen one actually used in a juggling competition. The hot trendy prop this year is the poi.
Good luck

You've never seen a devil stick used in a juggling competition? Surely that's because the majority of jugglers stick to the overused standard props of clubs, balls, rings and for the very adventurous diabolos. The best performers I've seen use all sorts of props and that includes the devil stick (but then again it also includes flower pots so what am I saying here?). The Stixguru video shows that flower/devil sticks are far from limited and the reason poi is trendy is because it is so easy.

Sell cheap producys if you have to but I find that the better quality prop will sell just as well especially if you have already explained why it is better and let the purchaser experience this for themselves.

I knew a man who kept saying "pliers, pincers, scissors". He was speaking in tongs.

Then if you are going to sell a fine devil stick I recomend Infinite Illusions you just can't beat teflon and silicone. Hi Nigel
