Hi friends,

I am not stating out a question of what rope trick I should do when I face the scenario above. But those info is very helpful because I now know the source of some good rope routines.

What I'd like to hear most is how we would tackle the situation above. Any idea?

On the same topic, what do you guys think about close-up vs. stage/standup?

Can you be a working proffesional only doing close-up and tablehopping/strolling magic? Or do you need to have a 45min standup act?

What do you do(the strictly close-up performer) when you have a show booked, and they say that you are needed to fill 15-30min in between speakers for all 400 people at an event?

I have heard about magicians who go round 'table hopping' who only do 4 or 5 tricks per table, and make quite a bit of money every night - if the situation of
'What do you do(the strictly close-up performer) when you have a show booked, and they say that you are needed to fill 15-30min in between speakers for all 400 people at an event' happened, I think you would be quite in your rights to say that you havent trained in a standup/stage act, and I think it'd be quite unfair for them to come out and say that! but I suppose it would be very useful if you had a repertoire consisting of some standup magic - it all depends on who you are really I think

sorry for the long-windedness
