In Swiss' review of Mnemonica, he mentions this stack and that it may eventually be published although not any time soon.
Do any of you guys have any info on how long it will be or any other details of it? |

Why are you asking for gossip?

Questions like this should probably be addressed with Mr. Conover privately, yes?

It's been almost six months since Tim Conover's very unfortunate death. Does anyone know if there are plans to release any of his work posthumously? From what I've seen and heard he was a very creative and gifted performer.

Had not heard this awful news, been out of the loop. On the Genii board Eric Anderson wrote:
Quote:
I remember when he created a number of memorized stacks and finally decided to learn the one he thought was the best of the ones he created. He sat me down and went through some of the benefits of his Infinity Stack and I was hooked. I made the decision to unlearn a stack I created and had lived with for a number of years and relearned his stack and have used it ever since. It's Simply Brilliant! Cool name for a stack. Another commenter says: Quote: Tim was also quite generous. When I decided to get involved with memorized deck magic, I was deciding on what stack to learn. Then I happened to read a review in Genii (Mnemonica) that mentioned Tim had a stack that would be published. I knew that his had to be well thought out. I just looked Tim up and emailed him. He did not know me at all. All I asked for was the stack itself and that I would be looking forward to the upcoming book as I memorized it. He ended up sending me the stack and all of his notes.....of course, I was sworn to secrecy. He also continued to email me with tips and tricks.

I remember reading in Mnemonica or the Genii review of Mnemonica that you could get into the Conover stack from north american NDO instead of european NDO (like Mnemonica); as well the stack contained a number of built in effects like the Aronson or Mnemonica stacks.

I e-mailed Richard Kaufman asking if we could look forward to seeing him publish anything from Conover in Genii (or elsewhere) in the near future. The answer is "no." He said nothing's scheduled for publication and any materials belong to Conover's heirs.

Seth asked a perfectly reasonable question to start this thread, and gets jumped by the next 3 people like he did something wrong.
What's up with that? If you hear that Vernon might have some long lost notes that might get published, are you going to tell people to 1 - quit gossiping about Vernon, 2 - don't ask us questions, ask the deceased Vernon himself about his project, and by the way, 3 - you have enough magic, you shouldn't even inquire about this. Seth - don't feel like everyone's against you here. Your question was fine, and I'm sorry that I don't have any answers for you. |

In Open Traveller's defense, he did suggest contacting Conover more than 6 years before his death. It's a very old thread I resurrected here.

Good point, I overlooked that.

I have talked to Tim's sister, and says that some of his works will be published in the future. I know he left manuscripts for the Infinity Stack and possibly some other works. I have no idea, though, when. I'd say within the next couple years.

I heard the same thing from a credible source that the family plans to create some published work for the magic community. It will be worth the wait.

Tim wanted to release his cylinder and coin routine.

I have heard from several credible sources that a project is underway that will teach all of Conover's magic and mentalism. I don't have any details, so don't bother asking, but was told by one insider it will probably take a couple of years to complete.

I'd guess more than a couple years as tribute magic tends to take longer to produce, but I look forward to it.
