I am interested in knowing if any of you know of some of the big names behind the scenes in magic like Johnny Gaugn. I am trying to compile a little info on this subject and would be thankful for any individuals to consider.

There are a lot of the right people here on the Café to help you but I think you need to get more specific.

Some of the big areas behind the scenes are:

Public Relations
Contract Specialists
Prop Builders
Consulting Magicians
Concept Developers
Casting Agencies
Personal Mangagers
Road Managers
Theatrical Production
Logistics
Animal Trainers, Contractors, and Keepers
Costuming
Adminstration (payroll, insurance, taxes, and pay the bills)
etc.

It is much more complex than the show the audience sees. There are usually many people behind the scenes that intentionally stay invisible. Some make more money than the magician the public sees and have much longer careers in the industry.

You are wise to seek them out. It is difficult to win a game without knowing how it is played. There are illusions in the entertainment business too!
