Maybe I was wrong to say they are totally corny. However 90% of the people who use them do not choose the best subline they could and end up sounding pretty corny. If used properly it would work.
THOUGHTfully,

The real goal should be to create such a unique character that you could just go by one name and everyone would know who you are. Think of all celebrities who go by one name - Cher, Madonna, Shaq, Magic, Bono, Elvis, RuPaul, Houdini...and

Duffy!

It's easy to unique and remember. What else can you ask for?

It certainly is easy and works well. However, in your marketing to new prospects, you must also let them know what it is exactly that you do and what you have to offer and how you can meet their needs. This also must be conveyed in any marketing material you plan on sending out.

Kevin, I think you did the right thing with your name.

I must now take my leave of you, as I have a Tarquin which requires fluttering.

There have been magicians who have shortened to one name, even recently with Dimmare or Murray!

I think , depending on the magic you do, you should stick with your own name.

I use Neale Bacon for kids and adults. No special pizzazz but it's me. I have capitalized on the Bacon name by incorporating it into my overall marketing (Just Bacon Up Some Fun and my famous pig logo)and even to my costuming with my piggy tie.

What a great gift idea! Thanks for the link. I know what I'm going to get my dad -- a Scott's Gaelic speaker -- for xmass.
