Hi all, My name is Chris, and I'm from Portland, OR. I'm in my 30's, and have been doing magic as a hobby since I was 8. Although I've been into magic for what seems like a long time, I find there is an incredible amount I don't know. My favorite kinds of magic are close-up and parlor magic. I don't look to magic for income, but have performed many shows at kids birthdays over the years through friends and families word of mouth. My favorite close-up trick is the multiplying rabbits. My favorite card trick is the two-card monte. My favorite packet trick is Martin Lewis' sidewalk shuffle. My favorite Kid's Tricks are the die box, the color changing sponge to square, and an assisted milk in newspaper routine. I also like to use a lot of silks in my parlor routines. Merlin (see my avatar) is the sleepy mentor in my kids shows. This past year I have been working on developing my cups and balls routine. The latest trick I am working on is Paul Harris' Deep Astonishment, but it is taking a while because I am trying to memorize the cheat sheet for a more smooth performance. I'm married and have three children, and by trade, I am a Patent Agent with an Electrical Engineering and Imaging Science background. I won't be a mega-poster, but I look forward to participating in the forum and learning from you.
