I wish there was more of a description on the HP website. I'm often hesistant at jumping at a purchase when there's not much said about it. Can't wait for a review.

Greetings,

We, Hocus Pocus Magic, did get the Mathieu Bich DVD in, but it doesn't play correctly. So, the copies we got from our distributor are going to be sent back to them. According to Tim at Murphy's, we should be getting the corrected version in about 3 weeks. If I hear of any change, I'll post it here.

However, I was able to watch some of the DVD and it looked really good. Here are the effects on the DVD:

Alu
Perrier
Burnt
The Force
Heat
Strike it
Double Club
Re-Post it
Technicolor
Leverage
Fickle
Bonus Section
Thinner
Stretching
Erazed

If you have ordered from us, we appreciate your patience! We want to be sure that you get a functioning DVD!

Thanks!
Jason London

Just got it las nightt..... Quick review: First, Bich performs (no explanation) three of his marketed effects stretched, thinner, and erazed. All wonderful and I believe their may be a demo as to each of these tricks on his site (sorry, no url)

As to the rest of the DVD- ALU- a very nice appearance of a normal full deck of cards from a piece of aluminum foil, looks nice Perrier- This is a GREAT prediction effect using cards, the idea of having a "message in a bottle" really adds to the effect, more than just a normal prediction effect if you ask me. BURNT- open a matchbox and all the matches are burnt, have spectator open it up and all are new- looks great! FORCE- Decent Force, but not something I would really use. HEAT- This is a nice, unique revelation of a chossen card using some unique properties of a sepcial (but easily available paper)- looks good! STRIKE IT- Out of all the matches on a table, the one the spectator chooses is the only one that works- no force and this one is a winner! Double Club- nice sandwich effect, fooled me! RE-post It- Off beat effect using a post-it note- pretty good! Technicolor- a drawing prediction effect, not bad, but not my style. Leverage- an interesting effect where a pen seems to be magnatized and will pick up all the cards except the choosen card- I like it! Fickle- Nice card revelation

Overall- some visual and offbeat effects. Downside- many, if not all, require some advanced preparation/"gimmicks". The preparation required is not terribly difficlut, but preparation nonetheless. Any questions, feel free to ask. BTW- I am selling my copy now- Thanks!

I thought this was a nice selection of effects. They are not all mind blowers, but interesting. The methods are a little off the beaten path too. The best effect is by far "Perrier" - it's definitely a fooler (actually a killer for a lay audience) and something that seems a bit more commercial than the other effects. "Burnt" is something I might use right away - very visual. "Re-post It" and "Technicolor" were two effects that I couldn't quite get - the "magic" was kind of a yawner. The other effects are revelations and could be quite strong in the right environment (some require fire or flash cotton - you can't use these everywhere). Hope this helps.

HI,
my favotite effect on the DVD is "leverage"
It's one of those effects that you just have to try on people to see how well it plays

Can you make the gimmics yourself, or do you have to purchase them?
