Has anyone purchased the Las Vegas Chip Assembly from hocus-pocus? Looking for a review.

I was thinking about purchasing this item because it has a different plot than typical coin matrix's and I like the use of the clay chips which are lighter and easier to manipulate than real silver dollars. There is also a casino chip and cylinder effect similar to the Ramsay stack that is manufactured by the same company. They would work well together and provide an interesting, emotional hook that is different than using coins.

I just signed into the magic Café for the first time and thought I'd add that there's some more information on the chip sets on my website if you're interested.

Question for Tabman:
Does the buyer receive something other than the chips and a routine? In other words, is this something new, or a standard assembly but using chips instead of coins? Thanks, Jerry |

The cap and pence routine is easy to learn but requires sleight of hand as they call it. The props draw interest and it's a lot of fun. There are several surprises. The chip assembly is some neat chips and a very good assembly routine with the finale being changing the four $25 to a black $100. the sleights aren't hard and a very neat way to vanish the chips. I don't think its a standard routine at all and took any years to develop. there are no gimmicks in the assembly. buy the the chip stack and you will be happy. buy the assembly if you would like a nice routine you can do. there are many happy buyers of the three or four different sets I've put out over the years.
I must say that this magic Café is pretty awesome. It's great to be able to talk with yall. Thanks for your interest!!! best, -=tabman

OH, to "others" here... Tabman makes great stuff, no junk, no false advertising. He does this for the love, not the money. He is also one awesome country musician... worked with Mickey Gilley Band until he got tired of living in a bus!
He knows practical stuff, check out his tables.

Thank you Pete. You know I'd never let you down!!! I do love it and it's simply great to be a part of magic and it's lore and tradition. I do appreciate the kind words especially since they're coming from Pete Biro. I remember when I used to write you letters from the tour bus when you were writing the Reel Works in Genii sometime last century and almost fell off the bus when you gave me a nod in your column so I visited the Castle the first time during the premiere of the Urban Cowboy movie.
Magician Gene d Gene's stepson Mike was the drummer in the band. Mike's mom had been d'Gene's assistant and he and I would set up all kinds of tricks on the road. He was a great stooge and instinctively knew just what to do to help sell a situation that usually involved sisters!!! I could go on and on about those days. They sure were fun. I got into magic very early on as a kid and it's always been my top interest. -=tabman
