Hi everyone,
Browsing around using google, and found this forum. I used to dabble with card magic maybe 6-7 years ago only as a hobby, and would like to get back into it. I remember one of my first books was the one by Henry Hay... what luck to have that one. From then on, got books like Expert Card Technique and Paul LePaul and others, but I don't have them with me now. Kind of strange for me to get started as an adult. |

Welcome.
The LePaul book is excellent. If looking for other things, try Buckley's Card Control. Also a great book. Expert at the Card Table another great classic.

Welcome to the Café. How old you are does not matter. Magic keeps you young at heart.

Thanks for the welcome.
I don't have any of my card books with me yet. I think Buckley's card control was one of those many books I bought for "the future". Alas, 6-7 years ago I <gasp> stopped in favour of school, didn't even practice part-time. Funny thing is, I never got a book like Royal Road to Card Magic. I just remembered signing out The Magic Book and Mark Wilson's book over and over again. Never knew about it, and got Erdnase and other books afterwards. The university library also had some old books like Cliff Green, Merlin's "And a pack of cards", and Marlo booklets (still can't do a faro shuffle). I also remember not being able to find the so-called "available" dai vernon books (wonder if someone stole them from the library). I should buy a copy of royal road. Anyhow, I've decided to finally pick up coin magic, and bought a hardcover Bobo. I recall being afraid of working with coins, but the first week of practicing isn't that bad at all. After a 6-7 year hiatus, I hope to continue learning magic and start performing sometime. After browsing and searching for topics in this forum, I'm looking forward to being a part of this place. Everyone is so friendly and helpful...not to mention extremely knowledgeable too! enough babbling ouch |
