Ok I'm in the process of developing a Miser's dream routine. I have all the props I'm going to use and I have all the 'moves' down (downs, thumb clip, etc etc) I've searched all about and found lots of texts on routines. But all seem suited for stage. I've seen a few Videos as well... but they also seem more for stage as well...
Now I know that this routine is easily converted from stage to close up... but I'd like to see it on a video.
No I'm not going to copy. I would just like to see what a finished product might look like. So that I could have a clearer goal in mind.
Which brings me to my question:

Is anyone aware of any Close up Miser's Dream on video?

Thanks for the help

I know that Jim Pace has a routine that he showed me which he uses during walkaround. It's in his soft cover book "A" material. Check out:

It's on there. Cheers.

Have a look at the effect: Free and Unlimited Coinage of Silver from the Vernon book. There are older routines too. Smile

Or what about the concept of Sawa's slotmachine?

Jim Pace also teaches his close-up Miser's Dream on his video, "Tricks from My Lecture."

It starts with the production of a silver dollar from a flash(paper) of fire, and by the end there are about a dozen coins on the table.

Looking at others work is great.

I would also suggest you put on some music and play with your props and moves.

Then take it out to i.e.

Work Caféteria,
Line at your local pharmacy or flu shot line(if you qualify)

in other words create, write, rewrite, practice..

rehearse....
....

and yes it is good to look at what other people create.

You might also watch old movies to come up with character ideas.

Be safe, take some risk and be creative.

R. Paul Wilson/Joe Porper have a beauty of a routine with quarters and a gaffed cocktail shaker.

But, you can do a sleight of hand version with a shaker as well.

I LOVE Bob Solari's version. An absoultely shocking ending to lay folks.
Bob's has a gaff, but even folks with little experience can do it without the gaff.

Related to the item on salt shakers above.

The one is for a drink shaker, but my nearly normal brain went to a salt shaker.

Has anyone used the Mikame Coin and Salt Shaker?

I remeber watching something on Sankey's Secret Files where he "split a coin into two" I took that principle and practiced doing it with 8 coins. You have to work on the slieghts involved pretty heavily, just because of the shear number of coins you are working with, but it has good reactions, and is well worth the time.
