I haven't seen many posts about this effect, is it any good, what is the effect exactly? Can you perform this effect strolling?

Three wooden beads come off a velvet cord.
The effect is good and well made.

The difficulty with this routine is the "routining" and finding a logical way to introduce it as an effect.
I have a show using "family heirlooms" each with its own story.

That's how I introduce the item

Otherwise, its well made and produces a visual effect.

This trick was first published in the "Discoverie of Witchctaft" in 1584. better known as "Grandmothers Necklace". It has been done for years and has a few different methods.
I was introduced to the trick about a year ago. I had never seen the effect, which is surprising because I thought I had seen it all. Funny how old tricks can be so wonderful. Anyway it really fooled me. I had no idea. Even though I have seen the principal used many times in the past. So I started playing around with it. I decided that I did not like the fact that it had to be preset. I work strolling gigs a lot and knew that it would not work unless I had many of them set up ahead of time. After each show I would have to reset them all over again. That got me thinking about the method I am now using and introducing to the magic world.

I tried it out here in my shop for a month or two to see the impact and to see if the magicians thought it had merit. Well it did. I carried it with me and performed it everywhere I went. That way I could see if people really liked it and if it would weather the test of time. It never failed to get a great reaction. Of course reaction is realitive. Sometimes reaction can be stunned silence and sometimes it is verbal. Either way is fine with me.

My presentation is very simple. I hand them the cords with the beads on them and tell them to make sure the cords are solid. They agree. Then I have them take the beads off the cords and examine them. As they are doing that I do the"secret work", in fact right in front of them. The beads are now strung on the cords. (even the spectator can help in the process) I mention that it could be used as a designer belt, a necklace or even a braclet. The spectator is asked to hold on to the beads which are now strung in the center of the cords. I tie the cords around their hand. I mention that under normal circumstances the beads could only be released by somehow sliding them off the cords. They agree. But under these circumstances it would be impossible to slide the beads off without their knowledge. They agree once again. This built up is what sets up the magic moment. Then I grab the ends of the cords in each hand and pull them right through their closed fists and beads. The penetration is very powerful..

I have put a lot of thought into the clearity of the presentaion. That is what sells this simple trick. I am sure most of you will appreciate the method as being practical and useable.

As a point of interest> Neil Foster used a similar "off-beat" moment to set up a block penetration after the ropes and block were examined by audience members. ( He did NOT use the special additions Dean has incorportated in his Grandmother's Necklace props.)

I recently purchased this effect from Dean Dill. It's a very strong penetration effect. You won't be disappointed!
