There are many ways to sterilize your own, ranging from just boiling water, to alcohol or the many other preparations available to medical institutions... If you are looking for prepackaged medical needles, there are plenty of sites on the net, with India leading the producers. All the packs are sterile until opened. Just about the only way to get the old skewers is to haunt the thrift stores for hatpins and do your own sharpening. Make your self known, there and at medical supply houses.

There is a medical supply factory on the Dorcan ringroad Swindon Wilts, the company name eludes me but its British ******** could be Vigo or similar. Hat pins in abundance at Antique town (Hungerford in Berkshire( I no longer do this act as even with the pins gold plated I managed to end up with blood poisoning.) Ken.

I wouldn't recommend using a same needle twice. They get all funky and bent at the ends. If it was me, I wouldn't trust alcohol to kill the bacteria you are trying to kill. If you can, buy needles and make friends with a piercer and get them auto-claved. A pressure cooker also works VERY well, but you need the autoclavable bags wich you can get from medical suppliers. That is if you want to go the absolutely safest way possible.

Go to the seedy neighborhood in your area and wait for those people that hand out clean needles to the junkies. Just kidding, Slim beat me to what I was going to say.

Long skewers can be made of bicyle spokes, but the metal can tear your skin... Be selective...

I don't like putting things through my body that aren't sterile, I have before, but it kinda freaks me out. But the bicycle thing is a good idea if you want a quick bunch of ghetto skeweres

You're very welcome. Your pic did not open for me, though, ***. You can get a lot of extra effect by using ornamental beads as a head for a pin or skewer.

A glass tray with a little tap water in the bottom, in a microwave for about 4 minutes, will give you all the sterility you'll ever need...

Yeah, that's also very true. They heat up a lot faster then the conventional pressure cooker.
