Hello,

I am adding a dove or two to my show. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with a balloon to dove tray. I don't want to do body loads at this point and thought this might be a good way to produce a dove. Is it deceptive? Is it hard on the bird? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks,

Keith

Make that three for Chalet. I even have one of the few sound activated trays that they made. The problem now is firing the gun.

You can certainly count my votes for Chalet and George. There are both the dove in balloon and gloves to dove. Lucy and I use both.

An advantage of the gloves to dove is that you can toss whatever is left in your hands from a finished trick (newspaper, silks, rope, deck of cards, etc.) on the tray (I recommend making it into a table top.) and it instantly changes into a live dove. It actually solves two problems at once. (I agree with Richard. We can't use the gun just anywhere anymore for the dove in balloon. Try getting on a plane with it!)

Okay, so Chalet it is! Thanks for the replies. I am going to try to find a way to make it "my own" without doing the same thing everyone else is. Not sure how quite yet, but I'll figure it out.

As soon as I get my doves I'll be ordering one from Chalet it sounds like. Thanks for the help guys.

Just to let you know, there is a Chalet balloon to dove tray for sale on magicauction right now. I know that George makes everything upon order and never stocks anything so you may want to try that.

Unless you want a certain color or something, George is killer at customizing his stuff... although you'll be paying a little extra for it, but he builds the best.

I have 5 or 6 custom Chalet pieces that are great. Plus George needs the biz. I would buy it from him if you can.

He did a custom colored spot card for me a while back and I love it. It took time, but well worth the wait. I'll do some checking, but I think this is the way I am going to go. Thanks for the help!

I have been using the Chalet tray for over three years now and have never had a problem with it in live performance. It even comes with a nice carpet bag to protect it! I think there going for $175.00 but well worth it.

Does his use a flap or roller blind? I have his Parakeet Cage and it's great.

There is a major difference in the flap on Chalet and other brands. Years later, the flap on the Chalet model still fits the hole! I can't say that was true for another brand I bought from a major dealer for about the same price. It lasted nearly two years. I'm still using three Chalet units I got in the late 70s.

Chalet equipment is really "road tough".

I bought my Chalet ballon dove tray in the early 80's and it is still in my dove act. Been used 100's of times. It's traveled 1000's of miles. Always works, never hurt a dove. George makes good stuff, but it's so good, you never have to replace it. Good for business/ bad for business.

Can you put the tray on a stand to make it like a table?
