I know what everyone is thinking, great another Blaine post. But I have been wondering how he does the card jumping from hand to deck. Its the one where he holds the deck in one hand and a card in the other hand and he makes them jump. Not when he does the actual trick where he says now it will switch so fast you wont see it but the actual jumping. Thanks

That would be the Simple Switch/Instant Replay by Paul Harris. You can find it in the Art of Astonishment, volume 3.

I don`t exactly know what it is called, but I think I read somewhere that Blaine practiced this for six weeks in a or so to get it right. So it is not easy then.

No I don't think so I beleive it is the one where the top card from the deck jumps off and does a spin into the other hand. When done in both hands the left hand holds a deck while the right hand holds a single card. and they the top card spins and changes place of the single card. very pretty effect but I am unsure what it's name is sorry no help from me. I think that you pinch between the thumb and middle it comes off the thumb from dealers position. hope it helps |

Profan is correct. When I first saw this I watched it frame by frame in slow motion just to make sure I was believing what I was seeing. Sure enough the two cards glided perfectly under one another as if they had a mind of their own. I am still working on perfecting these two effects, and it is no easy task. Feels great when you pull it off though.

It is, as stated Instant Replay, by Paul Harris. He says it may be the hardest thing he does.

Yea.
But its really not very hard at all. Its a nack, and takes a little time to master, but its a pretty simple (switch) move. LOL I'm a little surprised a magician did not alreday know this |

I learn this when I watch the David Blaine Street Magic TV Special! Watch 2-3 times, practice, and you will have results! |

Instant Replay is very hard with one hard, but even harder with two, so Blaine does a real good job.

The move is instant replay but you don't have to buy anything to learn it. Just look at his hands and how he does it. That's how I learned it and it's very simple. There's no trick to it but takes practice.

I heard Harris worked with Blaine for quite awhile before he pitched his street magic concept to ABC. So, he learned it from the master.

I've been trying to learn Instant Replay from watching David Blaine's video, but it will take me a while to learn.
I think I need to have longer fingers. |
