As I wrote in another topic in the same forum (topic = "larger table"):
- Off base (G. Wilson) You accidentally break a glass and restore it - Charming Chinese Challenge. I was wondering too (same post): how do you manage the "splitting" of the table into small ones? Using (rare) empty places, or inserting yourself at some point (people have to move, and so.)? What are your strategies? Thanks, Jonathan. |

For long tables, I agree with Jon Allen to move around a bit so that each section feels they have seen something just for them.
Having said that, I still want material that will play up in the air, not on the table. Most of my table-hopping material is like this anyway. Favorites for this situation are: Ultimate 3-Fly Ninja Rings (with no table moves) Really Cool Rising Cards (from my TIPS book) Invisible Deck (a la Gary Kutz) Any in the hands One Coin routine Big Coin, Little Purse (from Garrett Thomas video) Egg Bag Torn & Restored Paper Napkin (either with a Mouth Coil finish or "The Phoenix Napkin" a la Peter Samelson) Paper Rose to finish Hey, I just realized that's a great banquet show! Nevermind...just forget I said anything. You are getting very sleeeepy...... |

As an attension getter, I would say, try some flourish cuts. String together a 60 sec flourish routine... it can be seen easily, does not require you to work on the table (which wouldn't be seen by those at the opposite end of a large table) and would quickly establish your credentials as a pro. Other than that...
Card to wallet (vanish the card out of the spectator's hand) Color changing deck (effect is clearly recognized even from a fair distance) And invisible deck (using the assistance of a spectator at the opposite end of the table) This isn't to say that you couldn't still move to other parts of the table to do a more intimate show for groups of 2 or 3 at a time. |
