Uh, take it from a physician and skeptic, there are no iron filings in your blood if you're still alive. And there are no scientifically proven beneficial uses for magnets to relieve pain. It is another health fraud/scam based on marketing and the placebo effect. BTW, MRI uses giant magnets up to 3 Tesla field strength (strong enough to suck a >100 pound steel oxygen tank into the bore from across the room) and people get in and out of them without having all the blood sucked to one side or another of their bodies...or suffering any other known adverse effects.
As expressed above, you are however at risk for having unsuspected ferromagnetic materials suddenly fly at the M5 or pinching yourself, etc. Hmmm, bet I could do some AMAZING PK work in the scanning room...one audience member (patient) at a time <S>... Cordially, tr |

A quick web search with Google revealed dozens of online places selling stainless steel wedding bands and other types of rings . I'm going to go over to the local mall tomorrow to take a look. I have become enamored of using the gimmick called Enigma (which is sort of a half-Sanada with the thing glued into it ) , but I would think that a stainless steel ring with a removable thingy would be even more invisible . Almost "nothing" to ditch . |

I strap in onto my knee using an elastic bandage before going out. No washer necessary.

Same here. I usually strap it to the knee and put the wallet in the other pocket. Haven't wiped any credit cards yet. Though I once got stuck to a chair. Luckily my jacket was hanging over it, so I was able to cloak myself and get unstuck.

I have gotten stuck too many a times while carrying my PK but it is not soo strong you can't pry yourself free. It can be annoying but if you don't own one and you get one, you learn pretty quickly how to deal with it.
As for how dangerous it is, I keep it from my ATM card but as close as the pocket. Next my credit cards they're not affected. Just be careful period. |

I read about someone else suggesting placing one under a band-aid on your finger. (Replaces Omega Ring and Enigma gimmicks) .
It's a good idea for impromptu situations . It's not unusual to see someone wearing a band-aid on their finger, and I've never even had someone remark on it (most of the time a band-aid is for all practical purposes "invisible"), but if anyone did happen to mention it you just say that you cut your finger that morning with a knife or whatever . Maybe not so great for formal close up situations. A band-aid might look a little tacky . I think magician's hands should always be immaculate if possible. In formal situations I would go back to using the Enigma gimmick or a ring. Oh, btw, I remembered it was Harry Murphy who suggested wearing one under a band-aid . Great idea and I've used it many times in impromptu situations . Thank you Harry . |

All the talk about magicians sticking to cars and having to take their pants off is making my side hurt from laughing!
Thjis is when the magic "power" TAKES ON A LIFE OF IT'S OWN!! Hilarious, just hilarious!!
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

Hi
Always to hand and never forgotten - place it in the cuff of your performance jacket - seperate the lining from the cuff inside and just drop it in, its weight keeps it in the right place. Paula

There is iron and other trace minerals in your blood (ask a girl) that can be affected by magnetic fields. Ever look at a multivitamin? I read a report on cnn.com about how some hairdryers produce these electromagnetic fields that pool these metals and affect the reproduction and regulation of brain cells. You can't get an MRI everyday. There may be some issues with continual use, at least distance yourself from the nearest onlooker in case they have a pacemaker. 2 cents

Put the m***** in your wallets. The ones that come from a hard drive on a computer. You can buy them from Dell.
Use a sleight and have something (stapler, hammer, paperclips, etc.) stick to your pants. Then walk away. Be sure you put the wallet in your pocket, not inside your pants, or else you could hurt something. |

As to credit cards:
A friend of mine had two cards go bad on him after carrying them in a magnetic money clip, and yet... "Mythbusters" did an experiment, submitting credit cards to what finally stacked up to 'hellacious' electromagnetic fields to try to erase them, but the cards still worked. To me, the jury still seems to be out. Anybody here actually have a credit card erased by a PK magnet (and don't tell me about a friend of a friend's cousin)? Steve

Ray,
If you carry your wallet with your PK, I don't think your credit cards are gonna work for very long a.

Thanks for all the info and input - I just purchased the micro 5 pro pk and its on the way - looking for what your favorite effect or thing to do with it is?
Secondly - can it really penetrate most basic restaurant table tops? Thanks for the help. |

Dr_Stephen_Midnight, now a day credit cards like Discover card has better protection against magnetic field. I actually had Discover card erased by PK magnet 8 years ago. I ditched the PK in my back pocket next to my wallet after a trick to impress my girlfriend (now is my wife). Guess what, my girlfriend had to pay for that dinner since my credit cards were destroyed and worst, my b*** stucked to the chair when we left the restaurant. It took me couple turns to get my b*** off the chair but it was very embarasse for me at that time. When we talked about that now, we laughed a lot. It was a very memorable evening for both of us.

Hahaha...I have had the same experiance, walking aroung with an M-5 in my pocket...make sure to keep clear of cars, folding chairs (it is a little strange when you walk off and the chair follows you around...mysteriously clinging to your leg), gates, etc... It is actually fairly difficult to unstick yourself.
