Has anyone ever seen a cut and restored rubberband? If so desribe(If you will)the performance. The reason for this is I have one ready to market. I have done this at a convention and no one has seen it before. Here is my version......A rubber band is streched round the very tips of the fingers. You or a spectator cuts the rubberband with scissors. (Yes they really cut the rubberband)Then the same rubberband that was shown is restored. Any help?

Hi Barehanded
Quite a lot of users of this forum are experienced rubber band workers and many posts have been made on this subject including torn and restored rubber band workings such as 'Snap' and 'Thnap' but I've never seen any mention of a CUT and restored band. I have all four of Dan Harlan's Videos on Band effects and I don't think that he has such a working. If your idea is readily workable then I'm sure you'll get a lot of interest from we rubber band freaks. Please keep me posted on this as I'd definitely be a potential customer! Bill |

Hi Kirk
I predict that your going to stimulate a lot of interest with this. I have one or two questions which you may feel able to answer without giving anything away:- 1) Can you use a borrowed band? 2) Can the restored band be examined afterwards? 3) Does the effect depend on a method or a gaff? 4) Can you use borrowed scissors? Just a point of interest.....Elastrix 2 does have a true broken and restored rubber band trick in it. The rubber band is clearly broken, this could be modified so that the band is cut with scissors....
The two cut ends of the band can be cleanly showed....it is cut. Then the band is restored.. This is the "rubber rabbit" trick on pg 3. Can't tell you how strong the effect is, have not put any effort into it yet. It's possible this trick is similar to the one you have in mind, i could image someone doing this by accident.
It takes a big man to cry...... but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
