I read in a review that Sankey's "Revolutionary Card Magic" has a couple of variations of paperclipped on it. Can someone explain the concept of these to me? I heard one was a holiday/Christmas theme and I've been looking for some effects to do for Christmas time. Would this be worth getting?

Carl Andrews has a cool variation on this in his book Magic in Maui. The book has a lot of good stuff in it. I highly recommend it.

Some magicians' variations involve NOT having the cards signed. I've found that sometimes my spectators end up disappointed that their signature is on the paperclipped card. And I can understand the variation. I mean, which is more impressive, deftly switching cards, or predicting the future?

Stannmaple -- have the DVDs, haven't used Sankey's other variations, but have heard that folks get a great response.
I actually stick to the basics, but personalized my routine. Built it around a watch that lets me stop time... have a spectator hold the card in their cupped hands with a small opening, tell them I'm going to stop time, and while they are frozen, take the original card out of their hands and replace it with the one in the deck. (of course I don't explain all of this until the work is done...) Thanks to some Wonder Words, they swear afterwards that I never went near the card in their hand. Blows 'em away. |

That's a great idea.
As far as the variations on the DVD though, I know you don't use the variation on Rev. Card Magic, but I was just wondering what they were about? What is the theme of them? Thanks. |

On one of them the 'prediction' in the clip has a back covered with holiday wrapping paper...don't recall details of the other
