Hello everyone,
I was looking into Darwin Ortiz's material (in particular, his DVDs), and I was wondering how well he teaches the material. Does he go through them rather fast, or does he slowly and clearly explain each effect and the sleights needed to perform them? I'd appreciate any input. Thanks, Joe |

Darwin has suggested, as do most teachers, that his videos are not quite meant to stand alone, but to accompany the written material. While his books can stand alone without videos, the opposite isn't as true. You will be missing out on a lot of deep teaching and thought if you cut straight to the DVDs.
To answer your question more generally, Mr. Ortiz' work is great, and his writings are clear, clean and very well explained. |

His stuff is "Par Excellente"...lol. He's very good, not only as a Performer & Card Technician, but as a teacher as well. In the Videos I have he really doesn't teach false dealing is all. I have his Card Shark, and At The Card Table series, the latter series being the hardest stuff I think. Yes, I highly reccomend buying any and everything with his name on it. He goes into the psychology of his tricks and thinking too. My Best, Ed, (Eddini).

Mr Ortiz is a very good teacher.
Of course, in his videos/DVDs he assumes you already know some of the basic skills/sleights of card magic (or else it would take too long). As already mentioned, he evidently goes into more details in his books, but his videos/DVDs can stand alone, no problem. Highly recommended Ronnie Lemieux Montreal Canada

I have lot of Darwin Ortiz videos and books and they contains probably the best routines for a card guy.
He is sharp as a surgeon and crystal clear as a diamond... A great offer from Mr Darwin himself: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=111 |

Kenny Earle was one of Darwin's students. In high school the fellow was doing Darwin's card to pocket and also a handling of Topsy Turvy Aces. If you believe the student is a reflection of the teacher then you might be hard pressed to find a better teacher.
